cruisinaltitude.com Travel Tip Tuesday for November 1, 2011 This is Kerwin with Cruisinaltitude.com and its time for another Travel Tip Tueday. So today, we’re gonna talk about… its not my normal Travel Tip, I’m actually going to talk about a device that’s worthwhile for you to travel with. This is called a Kensington All-in-one Travel Plug Adapter. Now, its about $15.99 on Amazon, but its totally worth it because the individual adapters that you use if you go to another country usually cost anywhere between $4-$6 depending on which country you go to. But this little device for $15/$16, you get, here’s what you get: If you’re from the US with a US plug, you plug into here. Let’s say you’re in…, I’m sorry, press the little button here to activate it. Lets say you’re in the UK, there you go, that’s all you need, plug into your UK socket. Let’s say you’re in Japan, done Let’s say you went to Australia, done Let’s say you went to Europe or the rest of Europe, done! That’s all you need. The other recommended thing I’d say is that you get an extension cord, small extension cord for $6 or so. this way in case you need to plug more things in you’ll have that. So basically, you plug this into the wall and then you plug the extension cord in. That’s all it is; very simple, very effective and this is another Travel Tip Tuesday, this is Kerwin with Cruisinaltitude.com, have a great flight.

Travel Tip: Vegetarian Options at Mexican Restaurants – as part of the expert series by GeoBeats. My tip for tweaking a Mexican menu while dining out in Mexico are very easy. Mexico uses a lot of beans and a lot of vegetables and lots of corn tortillas. If you are gluten sensitive that is great for you because you can opt for corn instead of flour tortillas. You can pretty much vegetarianize anything. Tacos just replace the meat with beans, if you are vegan just get rid of the cheese. A lot of times they do not serve it with cheese, that is an American thing. Tostada salads, opt for beans instead of meat, get the cheese off and replace more vegetables. You can do guacamole, you can do salsas, you can do all sorts of things. The only thing is to ask and see if beans are especially refried if they are cooked with lard or if they have been made with a chicken or a beef broth. But other than that you are golden in Mexico.

Travel Tip: 5 Up and Coming Adventure Destinations – as part of the expert series by GeoBeats. There are so many adventure travel destinations around the world, it can be hard to choose; but I think that South America is really the leader in destinations for adventurous travelers. For example, the Colca Canyon in Peru is a great place to hike, great place to have a budget weekend, and it’s much less expensive than Machu Picchu. Also, in Brazil, the Pantanal is filled with wildlife, it’s basically a humungous marsh, and it’s a less expensive alternative to the Amazon. In Equador, you have the Andes and the Amazon, so it’s a really a way to combine mountains, coast and that kind of swampy wildlife. And finally, in San Pedro de Atacama, Chile, you have amazing sandboarding, and that’s totally low-cost, you just rent a sandboard, wax it up, and go on your own, so I would recommend all of those destinations to you.

Travel Tip: Packing for Camping – as part of the expert series by GeoBeats. When you go camping, it’s important to pack the right gear. So if you’re just going for a weekend retreat to the beach, or perhaps a more upscale destination, then you only need the basics: clothes, water, sunscreen, a hat; and of course your camping supplies: a tent, your sleeping bag. However, if you’re going on more of an expedition, then you really need to give thought to some extra supplies. You might want a Swiss Army knife, or a space blanket, or some other tools. So it’s important to look online, look up the destination where you’re going, and make sure you’re adequately prepared.

Best Value & Relax! Coco Banana Goa, India – Calangute Goa by www.cocobananagoa.com +++ WE. Coco Banana was built in 1926 and is a family-run business. Today we, Walter and Marina are the owners and are happy to have you as our guests. We are a Goan-Swiss couple and so we speak English and German German fluently. COCOBANANA. Coco Banana is a quiet, clean, comfortable, small, private guest house in the south of Calangute Beach, situated in a quiet area, only 100 meters from the wonderful beach or beach square (near the statue). Besides the guesthouse Coco Banana we also have two other places. Two studio apartments close to the beach called ‘Casa Leyla’ and one of the most nicest houses to rent in whole Goa, called ‘Soledad’. ENVIRONMENT. As we think about the environment, a special water filter for drinking water has been installed in our facilities, to reduce the plastic waste of empty plastic bottles. We also have a generator in case of power failure. SERVICES. We do laundry, have a doctor on call and safe deposit facilities. For other services like restaurants, travel agencies, taxis, tours (in and outside Goa), water sports, discos, boats and motor bikes to rent, etc. we will recommend you only to people who are trusted and reliable. +++ TRAVEL ELEVEN ? travelwishtv.com Going Ashore – At most ports the Ship will drop anchor right at the dock. At these ports you can exit and board the ship at your leisure all day long. At the other ports the ship drops anchor in the bay and you have to take a small boat called a “Tender” to shore. Since everyone can’t ride on the tender at once, sometimes the ship hands out tender tickets to go ashore. If you are in a big hurry to get ashore be sure to get your tender tickets as early as possible. That will insure a ride on the first tender. If the ship is stopping at a private island it is imperative to get there first if you want your pick of the best spots on the beach. The rest of the day the tender goes back and forth every thirty minutes. This has been Lisel Hlista for travelwishtv.com with yet another travel tip. Thanks for watching.
